The MC1231A Motion Processor is capable of improving brushless motor stability by directly providing sinusoidal commutation. A high-speed processor performs the software-based commutation, reducing torque ripple, oscillation, overshoot, and audible noise level, resulting in smoother motion. It is suited for motion systems that are sensitive to motor disturbances, such as direct drive brushless applications.
