Multiple Channel Positive Displacement Dispenser

The MULTIPLEX is the newest in the line of precision positive displacement dispensing systems offered by IVEK. The system features ceramic piston/cylinder sets that are sealed by the tight clearance of the mating parts. Although mechanical seals are not required, they are available as an option for applications that require them. The system includes a single motor drive that can actuate up to 12 pistons per platform. The actuator includes two separate mechanisms to create the pumping action. The pistons are all driven by a common rail that rides on precision bearings and is driven by a precision leadscrew system. A servomotor is used to control the linear motion and it provides for a high degree of resolution over dispense volume selection. The rotary motion is provided with an air powered rotary actuator for each fluid channel. The valving function is accomplished with this rotary motion and each channel has individual sensors to detect the active port (inlet/outlet). Additionally, the controls allow any of the individual channels to be disabled for "no product – no fill" operation. This is accomplished by directing the desired channel to not valve to the discharge port during the linear motion of the pistons.

The system features a quick disconnect design for the pump modules. Each channel can be removed from the actuator platform without the use of tools, and in a matter of seconds. The resulting system needs no calibration, is easy for an operator to use and can dispense with 0.1% C.v. repeatability.
