Branson's orbital vibration welders are complete assembly systems
Branson Ultrasonics Corporationrbital vibration welders are complete assembly systems designed to weld large or irregularly-shaped thermoplastic parts. The equipment can operate at low weld amplitudes (less than 0.030" in some applications), which reduces part clearance requirements and enables welding of unsupported vertical walls.

The orbital welding process provides designers greater latitude in designing plastic parts. Spin welding is restricted to circular joints and linear vibration welding has difficulty with unsupported joint walls perpendicular to the axis of vibration. These constraints do not apply to orbital welding, since motion is in all directions. In addition, the ability to program motion allows weld paths from a circle to a straight line to be selected. An elliptical path can be set at any angle. In other words, the motion can be tailored to the part shape or weld requirements.

Standard features include: closed loop amplitude control, adjustable frequency, opti-touch sensors, and process verification software for evaluating weld quality.
