Pharmaceutical Tube Seals Tester

A seal strength tester for plastic and laminate tubes used in cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry is available. The BT-1000, which has been used in the medical device industry, is available in a high pressure, 100 psig, model to perform inflation seal strength tests on end and side seals. The instrument is adapted to fit the screw end of the tube and apply air pressure that burst the seals to indicate tube seal strength.

The tester is run automatically by a one-button operation after initial setup using simple ATM style menu driven programs. A graphic plot of pressure vs. time is shown on the bright LCD display along with seven other screens of data including SQC/SPC control charts, histogram and statistics for mean, standard deviation and range from a 1000 result data log. Data may be printed or downloaded via an RS232 port to another computer to meet documentation requirements. Multiple program storage and four test modes for burst strength, seal creep resistance and leak are standard features of the BT-1000. Custom fixtures and design service is available to meet special customer configurations.
