Type TPS flush-mounted self-clinching pilot pins are available in an additional metric size of 3mm to satisfy a wider range of alignment, positioning and pivot applications. When installed, these 300 Series stainless steel pins maintain a flush appearance on the reverse side of metal sheets as thin as .040"/1mm. The chamfered end of the pins makes locating attached parts for alignment or mounting quick and easy.
In addition to the new 3mm diameter size, the pilot pins are available in standard unified diameter sizes of .125", .187" and .250", and in metric sizes of 4mm, 5mm and 6mm. Available lengths range from .375" to 1.00" and 8mm to 20mm.
The pins are installed in aluminum or steel sheets by placing them into pre-punched or drilled holes in sheet metal and squeezing them into place using any standard parallel-acting press. They become a permanent part of the assembly.
