HISTORY

Polygon was founded in 1949 in a small facility in Walkerton, Indiana and has grown to become a leader in the emerging composite industry. The first to develop pultrusion technology, Polygon, by the 1950s and 1960s, began developing fishing rods and speedboats as well as non-conductive military hardware. Committed to continually refining composite technology, Polygon currently operates four state-of-the-art facilities, providing an array of sophisticated components for the medical, electrical, industrial and automotive industries.

DESIGN CAPABILITIES

Polygon engineers transform ideas into reality in our separate 7,500 sq.ft. Research and Development center. We utilize custom chemical analysis, the latest resins and reinforcements and intensive physical testing to create cost-effective materials to meet each customer's optimum specifications. Through the years, Polygon has been granted over 60 patents and awarded major developmental contracts from Fortune 500 companies such as General Electric, Black & Decker, General Motors, Johnson & Johnson and more.

Designing composite materials which are lighter, stronger and more durable is the task of our expert staff. Polygon's research team has over 8 decades of cumulative composite experience. Careful analysis through such tools as an infrared spectroscopy assist Polygon's technicians in determining the feasibility of each new composite formulation.
