Rochester Medical's Antibacterial Catheter Approved

Rochester Medical Corp. (Stewartville, MN) has received FDA clearance to market its new Antibacterial Personal catheter designed for intermittent catheterization for patients with incontinence and other voiding dysfunction as well as for surgical and sampling procedures.

Many such patients must self catheterize multiple times everyday in order to fully drain their bladder as would occur in a normally functioning urinary system. In general, patients who self catheterize also suffer from recurring urinary tract infections. The Antibacterial Personal Catheter is designed to help destroy the bacteria that cause these infections.
