SCRAMNet+ Programming and Network Monitoring Tools

Source: Systran Corporation
The company, developer of the SCRAMNet+ real-time network, offers two new tools that simplify programming and provide easy network analysis and optimization.
The SCRAMalyzer Network Monitor is a portable monitoring system that measures the data throughput and performance of SCRAMNet networks. By collecting, analyzing and visually displaying traffic peaks, network saturation and bottlenecks, the SCRAMalyzer enables designers to identify hardware and software configuration problems and determine the best overall network configuration.

The SCRAMalyzer features two modes of operation. In its "Quick Viewer" mode, it provides a real-time scrolling graphic display of data throughput and latency, recorded at a 10-millisecond sampling rate. This mode provides immediate feedback of current network performance. In its "Analyzer" mode, it passively collects network throughput and latency data at a faster 1-millisecond sampling rate, with minimal impact on network performance. Once data collection is halted, the Analyzer mode provides various statistical reports regarding network throughput and latency. EZ-SCRAMware is a new, streamlined Application Program Interface (API) for SCRAMNet networks. With EZ-SCRAMware, programmers can access network features using simplified function calls rather than intricate programming routines. EZ-SCRAMware reduces multiple lines of complex codes to just a few intuitive commands, reducing programming time, effort and cost.

EZ-SCRAMware is available for Windows NT, Solaris, IRIX, and VxWorks operating systems and supports all PCI and PMC SCRAMNet+ Network interface cards. Its commands are platform-independent, allowing easy migration between different computers and operating systems.
