SCRAMNet+ SC150e Board

Source: Systran Corporation
The company, developer of the SCRAMNet+ real-time network, has recently designated the current generation of SCRAMNet+ boards as the SC150 series and immediately expanded the series with the introduction of the new SCRAMNet+ SC150e board set.
SCRAMNet+ SC150e Series boards allow host computers to access SCRAMNet+ memory at speeds up to five times faster than an other shared memory networking system, more than doubling overall system throughput in many applications. By lowering communication overhead and increasing system performance on the PCI bus, the boards enable host computers to devote more of their processing power to applications. They offer typical application-to-application latencies of less than 10 microseconds and maintain overall network determinism, guaranteeing on-time data delivery throughout the network.

These boards are factory-configured devices available in PCI and PMC formats with selected sizes of embedded shared memory and an embedded fiber optic media interface. They are completely hardware and software compatible with other SCRAMNet network interfaces in VME, PMC, PCI and other popular formats.

The SCRAMNet+ replicated shared-memory network allows multiple computers to operate simultaneously on the same set of data, regardless of their bus type or operating system. Each SCRAMNet+ card stores its own copy of the network's shared memory and each host computer accesses this memory locally. Any time a host changes the contents of the SCRAMNet+ memory the memory location and its data are instantly and automatically updated at all other nodes on the network, without complex layers of software and hardware protocols. Individual node latencies are measured in nanoseconds. Typical applications include high- fidelity simulation, high-speed data acquisition, and continuous process control.

Our Gold Plus line of interfaces include single and multi-function boards in the PCI, PMC, VME, VXI and PC/AT form factors, and a PCMCIA card is available for portable applications.

All SCRAMNet+ products will continue to feature the low-latency and deterministic performance that is critical to the successful integration of real-time systems.
