Simulation Software

Software offers improvement in the design of artificial heart valves and pumps to help cut the death rate from cardiovascular disease. The European Union project will integrate the company's computational fluid dynamics software, CFX, with stress analysis software to create the first comprehensive tool for modeling blood flows and cardiac implants.

The tool will be used by researchers and manufacturers to study the fundamental behavior of the cardiovascular system. This will lead to improved design of valves and pumps, and contribute to better survival rates among patients.
