The company offers a low-cost, half-board size upgrade for 486-based single board computers. In addition to providing 586-class processing power, the new PCA-6753F's design incorporates an on-board slot for up to 128MB of SDRAM, which offers better memory performance and capacity at almost the same price as 486 EDO RAM.
The design is based on a 2.2v GXm processor and uses little enough power that it doesn't need a fan to operate in temperatures from 0° to 60°C (32° to 140°F). This leads to benefits in cost, size and reliability, as well as to noiseless operation.
Other design feature include an on-board VGA/LCD controller, a 10/100Mbps Ethernet interface, DOC 2000 support for a solid-state disk, and a "face-up" PC/104 connector. An enhanced IDE interface supports two devices, and a parallel port, two serial ports, an infrared port, and a PS/2 keyboard/mouse connector are built in.
