Size 17 Captive Linear Actuator

HSI announces its newest product, a size 17 Captive Linear Actuator. Taking advantage of 20 years of experience in the manufacturing of captive linear actuators in smaller sizes, HSI has adapted the technology developed with can-stack motor to the hybrid design.

Similar to its non-captive relative, the patent pending high performance engineering thermoplastics in the rotor drive nut ensure trouble free, exceptional long life operation for use in high precision applications. A stainless steel splined shaft coupled to a stainless steel leadscrew allows for precise motion control with resolutions ranging from .00012"/step to .00192"/step. A .500" stroke is standard and can easily be customized up to 2.5". The unique feature of a built-in stop prevents overtravel, lockup or damages. The ball bearing preload adjuster reduces hysterisis. The standard Size 17 mounting pattern makes the captive motor easy to use.

Typical applications for this motor include valve control, X-Y Tables, medical equipment, semiconductor handling and telecommunications equipment or wherever precise positioning, rapid motion and long life are needed.
