SourceMedical Announces SurgiSource Release 4.4

New Release Improves Billing, Scheduling, Reporting and Inventory Management Processes for Surgical Facilities

Birmingham, AL — SourceMedical, a provider of information management solutions to the ambulatory surgery center, surgical hospital, practice, rehabilitation clinic and diagnostic imaging markets, has released SurgiSource version 4.4. The new release provides ambulatory surgery center(ASC) customers with a number of enhancements to improve their billing, scheduling and inventory management processes, as well as other improvements.

With release 4.4, SurgiSource users can now capture and report primary payer adjustment amounts to facilitate the electronic submission of secondary claims, speeding the billing and payer reimbursement process. Customers using Emdeon as their claims clearinghouse can now electronically bill Medicare Secondary claims with the appropriate adjustment codes, and SurgiSource 4.4's adjustment screen now allows adjustment information to be entered at the line item level. To maximize patient safety, SurgiSource 4.4's scheduling reports which reference a surgical site have been updated to display the full modifier name to safeguard against wrong site surgical procedures.

To support ASC's multi-vendor supply ordering and inventory management needs, SurgiSource's inventory module now accommodates supply vendor numbers up to 10 characters. And, to facilitate the exchange of scheduling and demographic data with SourceMedical's SourcePlus EHR solution, SurgiSource now offers an outbound export function that eliminates dual data entry and saves staff time. The release also includes several other enhancements designed to improve staff productivity and efficiency.

"The enhancements in SurgiSource release 4.4 reflect our ongoing commitment to continually improve our products to meet the evolving needs of our clients and the industry," said Scott Palmer, president and chief operating officer of SourceMedical's Surgery Division.

The upcoming SurgiSource release 4.5 will accommodate government mandated revisions to the HCFA-1500 claim form, the newly approved UB-04 claim form, support of X12 electronic billing for institutional claims and other enhancements.
