St. Jude Launches New Pacing System

St. Jude Medical Inc. (St. Paul, MN) has begun selling its new Integrity AFx AutoCapture pacing system in the United States.

The Integrity family includes a dual-chamber rate-responsive system (model 5342) and a single-chamber rate-responsive device (model 5142). Features include expanded programmability of hysteresis settings, a programmable Auto Mode Switch (AMS) base rate, automatic P&R wave measurements, and noninvasive programmed stimulation (NIPS).

The first U.S. implant of an Integrity DR AFx AutoCapture pacing system occurred on May 8 at the Long Beach Memorial Medical Center in Long Beach, CA.
