SteriGenics International Announces New MiniCell Sterilization Facility

SteriGenics International Inc. (Fremont, CA) announced plans to install its MiniCell irradiation system into the company's newest contract sterilization facility located in Franklin Township, NJ.

The new location is the company's first operation designed for the northeast region's medical device community. The facility will offer total sterilization management and such services as guaranteed same-day processing, warehousing, and transportation services. The company expects the facility to be operational by the end of the first calendar quarter 1999.

The MiniCell was designed to be operated as either a contract facility, such as those located in Hayward, CA, and Gurnee, IL, or as an in-house operation for companies desiring to maintain all aspects of the sterilization process.

SteriGenics currently operates 13 irradiation processing facilities including 12 gamma facilities and one electron beam facility.
