The Orbital Forming process was developed by Mr. G. Bodmer of BK-Taumel who applied for the respective patent in Washington D.C. on December 3, 1962. On March 16, 1965, the United States Patent Office issued Patent No. 3,173,281 to Mr. G. Bodmer or assigns. The first orbital forming machine in America was supplied in 1965 to an automotive components manufacturer in Indiana.
In May 1967, TAUMEL was founded as a New York Corporation for the express purpose of introducing and marketing its line of orbital headforming equipment, offering many benefits and advantages over any conventional assembly method.
Today, TAUMEL ASSEMBLY SYSTEMS continues to supply a complete line of orbital machines and modular units for system integration, designed and precision-built in the U.S.A.. The program includes a wide choice of multispindle systems and many options to meet the customer's production needs.
