Technical Overview of Ivek's Precision Liquid Delivery Systems

IVEK's precision liquid metering or dispensing systems are custom manufactured to meet the requirements of each application. The systems are capable of pumping a wide variety of fluids in the small volume range (nanoliters to 4 liters per min.). Each system includes three fundamental components: Electronic Controller, Motor Base Assembly, and the Pump Module.

The controllers drive the motor base assembly upon which the pump module is mounted. Metering system controllers continuously pump fluid over time at various rates, and dispensing system controllers are for precision dosages or individual measured additions.

The motor base assemblies are provided in two main sizes. The larger size, HD stainless steel base uses 34 frame motors for B, C, and D size ceramic piston sets. The MICROSPENSE AP base handles the smaller volume ranges and uses 23 frame motors for the 1A, 2A, 3A ceramic sets. Linear systems use leadscrew based drive systems that are sized for each application.

The pump module is the heart of the system and it is designed to operate without seals or check valves, which are the maintenance items in traditional systems. The sets are sealed by the tight fit of the piston to the cylinder. This close clearance is appropriate for low-pressure applications (below 100 psi). The ceramic is extremely resistant to abrasion, chemicals and is temperature stable. The resulting system is capable of repeatability of 0.1% C.v. with little maintenance.
