Teleflex Medical Launches ConchaTherm Neptune Heated Humidifier
Research Triangle Park, NC - Teleflex Medical recently announced the launch of the ConchaTherm Neptune Heated Humidifier. Developed in collaboration with the respiratory therapy community, the Neptune offers the utmost in simplicity, while providing the option to make adjustments and customize settings in response to unique patient or environmental challenges or in keeping with hospital protocols. Designed as a universal humidification system, Neptune is for use with a variety of clinical applications, including invasive and non-invasive ventilation, high-flow cannula therapy, infant CPAP, heated aerosol therapy and oxygen hoods.
Neptune offers simplicity, versatility and unparalleled performance, all in one compact package. Featuring a "Plug ‘n' Play" design, the unit will automatically detect circuit type and respond accordingly, facilitating a quick and easy setup. The Universal User-Interface features graphic icons that are intuitive and easy to learn, minimizing training and facilitating ease of use. Neptune's Alarm Package is designed to maximize patient safety and minimize nuisance alarms and a control panel clearly and intuitively displays the source of alarms to facilitate troubleshooting.
Neptune puts the control at the clinician's fingertips, allowing for customization of airway temperature and temperature gradient values, enabling the clinician to adjust the humidifier based on unique patient and environmental conditions. The unit is compatible with adult, pediatric and neonatal ventilator circuits in a variety of configurations (including heated-wire and non-heated-wire), allowing clinicians to choose the circuit that best meets their needs and clinical protocols. State-of-the-art materials and components used in Neptune's construction allow for outstanding humidification and condensation control, while at the same time minimizing the unit's size and weight.
"For over 30 years, clinicians worldwide have relied on ConchaTherm technology to deliver safety, performance and reliability," said Jeri Eiserman, RRT, a past president of the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC) and Director of Professional Sales and Support at Teleflex Medical.
