ThermoLase Receives FDA Clearance to Market its SoftLight Laser

ThermoLase Corporation announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared the company's SoftLight laser for skin resurfacing.

The company began development of the SoftLight skin-treatment process after many hair-removal clients reported improvement in their skin's texture and appearance following hair removal. The skin-treatment process employs the same low-energy dermatological laser used in the company's proprietary hair- removal process, in combination with an activating lotion. The laser's energy reacts with the lotion, creating heat and mechanical energy that remove the tough outer layer of dead skin.
