Tubing Cutting Guide

The IDEX Health & Science Polymeric Tubing Cutter is a precision tool designed to cut a wide range of polymeric tubing materials, including Teflon®, Tefzel®, and PEEK™ polymers. Engineered with guide holes for 1/16" and 1/8" outer diameter (OD) tubing, it ensures flat, clean, and consistent cuts, supporting reliable system performance in demanding applications.

Its simple, score-and-snap design makes operation straightforward. Users begin by squeezing the tabs at the back of the cutter to lift the blade, inserting tubing through the appropriate guide hole, then releasing the tabs so the blade rests on the tubing. For Teflon® tubing, the cutter is spun around until the blade completes the cut. For PEEK™ tubing, four to five rotations are sufficient before snapping the tubing at the cut point. This versatility ensures compatibility across different polymeric materials with minimal effort.

To maintain precision, the cutter includes replacement blades for long-term usability. Replacing a blade involves unscrewing the retaining nut, carefully removing the dull blade, and installing a new one with the angled cutting edge properly aligned. Once secured, the blade sits flush against the cutter body, with a protective cap ensuring safe handling.

By combining ease of use, safety, and durability, the IDEX Polymeric Tubing Cutter is a reliable solution for professionals who require repeatable, clean tubing cuts. Its thoughtful design and replaceable components make it an indispensable tool for labs, fluidics systems, and applications requiring precise tubing preparation.
