Hewlett-Packard Company announced the addition of two new members to its Open Cardiology Initiative -- a consortium of influential technology companies and systems integrators committed to providing standardized patient data access.
Mortara Instrument and the Applied Systems Group of Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) are the newest additions to Open Cardiology Initiative, which was announced by HP in November, 1997.
Open Cardiology Initiative members work to accelerate application of standards such as HL7 (text messaging), DICOM (images), HTML (Internet), SCP (waveforms) and Clinical Context Object Workgroup (visual integration), as well as commercial technologies, including the World Wide Web.
Current members of the Open Cardiology Initiative team include Cambridge Heart, LINK Medical Computing, Medicomp, MicroMedical, Quinton Instrument Company and Zymed.
