Univec Designs Sliding Sheath Technology to Prevent Needle Stick Injury

Univec, Inc. recently introduced a new sliding sheath technology for its 1cc single-use auto destruct syringe to prevent needle stick injuries among healthcare professionals and other syringe users.

Univec plans to apply the same technology to its full line of syringes and is currently offering the technology through a leasing, licensing and franchise program - giving manufacturers access to Univec's proprietary design. The program will accelerate the availability and transfer of technology in the United States as well as developed and developing countries, and protect against the spread of diseases including HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C due to the inappropriate reuse of syringes.
