90° round and flat face light pipes, available with centerlines ranging from .125 – 1 in. offer maximum flexibility in the PCB layout. The SLP3 Series light pipes can be used for applications where the output from a surface mounted LED needs to be redirected to a front panel or enclosure.

The pipes are made of 94 V-O compliant clear polycarbonate material for maximum light transmission and a 180° viewing angle. The pipes also protect circuits from accidental ESD by isolating the PCB from the potential contact. In applications where board space is critical the pipes eliminate the need for a daughter board and alignment tools. A single .040 in. press-fit pin provides retention for secure mounting, and two locating pins prevent the light pipe from twisting.

The series is designed exclusively for surface mount applications and reduces footprint mounting space by as much as 50%. Typical pricing is $.07 each in 10,000 piece quantities, in both round and flat face styles.
