XLM Series Of LED Fiber Optic Light Modules For Medical Applications

Excelitas' XLM Series of LED Fiber Optic Light Modules are designed for use in surgical microscopy, endoscopy, surgical headlamps, and other medical illumination applications that require bright, uniform illumination. Excelitas offers its OEM Light Module designs with (PLUS) or without integrated control electronics to suit your specific medical illumination integration needs.

The XLM Series provides many advantages for medical illumination applications. XLM Series Fiber Optic Illuminators feature high luminous flux and excellent light uniformity which allows surgeons and medical professionals to see more clearly in the operating room or examining room. No heat shield or filtering is needed with the XLM series since the light modules emit virtually zero ultraviolet or infrared radiation. The XLM Series is also very energy efficient which allows for a longer life and less heat output than with Xenon technology.

Excelitas' XLM Series LED Fiber Optic Light Modules are designed to be integrated by OEMS in medical illumination applications. In order to minimize an OEM's design time and reduce time-to-market, the fiber optic module includes both metric and imperial mechanical mounting fasteners. A flange-mount shaft with pilot holes located on a 27 mm diameter circle enables device manufacturers to integrate their own fiber coupling. The XLM Plus Series includes electronics for safety alarms, error mode and power status indicators, circuitry for fiber safety interlocks, intensity controls and more.

The XLM Series is RoHS-compliant, CE-marked and compliant with Medical Safety Standard IEC/EN 60601-1; XLM Plus is also compliant with EN60601-1-2.
