Introducing A New Line Of High-Performance Safety-Certified Capacitors

A newly expanded range of safety-certified multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) offers voltage ratings between 310 Vrms and 500 Vrms, including the industry’s first class Y2 MLCC rated at 500 Vrms. These components are engineered to ensure safe and reliable operation in high-power AC/DC converters for industrial and automotive applications such as electric vehicle onboard chargers and data center servers.
Key features include a high working voltage capability—up to 12 nF capacitance in the 310 Vac class Y2 category—and an innovative design that provides a creepage distance of at least 5 mm within a compact 2720 case size. This enables significant board space savings without compromising safety. The MLCCs also meet a higher DC-rated voltage of 1,500 V in compliance with EN60384-14 Annex H.
Designed for harsh environments, these capacitors are rated to humidity grade IIIB (85 °C/85 % RH for 1,000 hours) and operate across a wide temperature range from –55 °C to +125 °C. All variants are AEC-Q200 qualified, ensuring robust performance in automotive and demanding industrial conditions. An optional FlexiCap™ termination—a proprietary flexible epoxy polymer—adds resistance to mechanical stress, further improving reliability in high-vibration environments.
By expanding voltage capabilities and integrating critical safety features into a smaller footprint, these MLCCs allow engineers to better mitigate transient voltages and electromagnetic interference while meeting stringent safety and performance standards. This combination of high-voltage tolerance, environmental durability, and space-efficient packaging makes them a versatile choice for next-generation high-voltage power electronics.
