What Is Micro-Molding?

Micro-Molding Metrology is where a millimeter looks like an elephant.

Modern advances in computer aided design allow mechanical engineers to build virtual geometries smaller and more complex than ever imagined only a few years ago. However, once virtual designs are manifested into physical parts and assemblies, how can it be assured that the design intent has been met?

The assurance begins with Accumold's development process. The Accumold Quality Department reviews the appropriate design drawings and specifications before the tooling is designed to determine the impact of proposed parting and insert lines, ejectors, draft, and manufacturing techniques. If a question arises, the issue is resolved before it becomes a problem. Why should a surprise ruin new part introduction?

Accumold understands that the initial qualification of parts and processes, along with the on-going QC and QA activities required, varies from industry to industry and from company to company. That is why Accumold is adaptable to each customer's needs and incorporates the controls necessary to fit with any customer's ISO 13485, TS 16949, AS9100, or government regulated requirements. Our quality management system is flexible enough to incorporate these requirements of each individual customer or project, as necessary.

Early in the project, Accumold can provide advance quality planning activities including production part approval, failure modes and effects analysis, and measurement systems analysis. Additionally, Accumold's part verification activities and reporting can be easily incorporated into any medical device validation reporting. If your product requires specialized functional, pressure, destructive, packaging, or dimensional testing, these requirements may be incorporated into qualification and production runs as well.

Once a project is underway, Accumold's in-house, fully equipped and fully staffed metrology capabilities are put into action. Specialized reporting, statistical process control, or even summarized, statistical data analysis are available. Trained and certified six sigma black belts are available to provide assistance with data and decision-making. State-of-the-art multi-sensor measurement equipment is often used along with best practices and internationally traceable calibration to assure the best data and overall assurance of quality.

In short, why settle for anyone else, when you can get what you really need?
