PolyPeel Peelable Polyester Heat Shrink Tubing

Tubing-Assemblies

Peelable polyester heat shrink tubing provides an innovative, PFAS-free alternative to traditional FEP heat shrink in catheter manufacturing and related medical device applications. Engineered for ease of use, the tubing is designed to streamline production by enabling effortless removal—a simple ¼” incision allows smooth, longitudinal peeling that safeguards delicate substrates and eliminates the risks of skiving damage. Its ultra-thin walls and high dielectric strength (>3,400 V/mil) ensure reliable performance while supporting advanced manufacturing needs such as masking, wrapping, bundling, stent crimping, and device containment during processing.

This heat shrink tubing is optimized for reflow processing, offering low-temperature recovery, precise fit tolerances, and the ability to transfer its smooth interior finish to processed components. With a wide inner diameter and wall thickness range, it supports multiple device configurations while maintaining structural integrity. Additional benefits include tight-tolerance bundling, profile preservation of delivery systems, balloons, and implants, and enhanced operator efficiency through easy, consistent removal.

Compatible with common thermoplastics such as Pebax and Polyamide, the tubing is versatile across various applications. It can be sterilized using ethylene oxide, gamma radiation, e-beam, or autoclaving (single cycle recommended) and meets ISO 10993 biocompatibility standards. Processing guidelines recommend a heat shrink temperature range of 185°F to 374°F (85°C to 190°C) with optimal reflow settings between 365°F and 455°F (185°C to 235°C).

By combining speed, safety, and environmental compliance, peelable polyester heat shrink tubing enables manufacturers to reduce scrap, protect devices, and achieve scalable, high-quality results in catheter and medical device production.
